Tastes and Trails of Hidden Italy Itinerary
Day 1: Pisa airport transfer to Col di Lavacchio. Welcome drink and briefing. Traditional Garfagnana dinner.
Day 2: Isola Santa – marble quarry – Col di Favilla (abandoned village) – Puntato meadow and Rifugio for lunch. Dinner in Barga.
Day 3: River valley walk to Mulino Sante – ancient chestnut woods. Ristorante Belvedere in Sillico for lunch. Winery tour and tasting at Concori, a biodynamic winery.
Day 4: Across the viaduct at Villetta to Poggio – Apuane valley walk to Roccalberti. Lunch at Agriturismo Mulino Roncone. River side walk to Sambucca. Pizza night at Lavacchio.
Day 5: Transfer to train station for a day trip to Lucca. Enjoy cycling the walls, ambling the streets and experience the elegance of this medieval city.
Day 6: Stroll through the rolling meadows and vineyards to Castiglione, a beautiful castellated town. Woodland walk to C12th mill and bridge. Slow Food lunch in Vecchio Mulino in Castenuovo: sample the region’s traditional products.
Day 7: San Pellegrino – Apennine ridge walk with spectacular views to the sea. Woodland trail to Rifugio Burigone for refreshments. Final dinner to share stories and swap details.
Day 8: After breakfast, a single transfer to Pisa airport.
